教学设计说明】

Unit 5 Can you come to my party? 是《义务教育课程标准实验教科书英语(新目标)八年级(上)》的一个单元。本单元学生将要学习礼貌地发出、接受、拒绝邀请,谈论自己必须做的事情,并合理安排自己的活动。在本单元的第一课时,学生已经初步了解了如何向别人发出邀请的“Can you...?”句型,如何接受邀请“Sure,I'd love to.”和拒绝邀请“I'm sorry.I have to ...”的句型。本课时,学生将继续练习如何在真实的语境中运用本课的话题。

【教学目标】

在教师创设的情景下,在与同伴相互交流的过程中,通过发出邀请、拒绝或接受邀请,练习礼貌地使用本课的目标语言。学会将所学的语言运用到真实的交际生活中去。

【本课重难点】

学会礼貌、自如地发出邀请、拒绝邀请或接受邀请。

【教具】

录音机、粉笔、黑板。

【教学过程】

1.从生活中的话题入手,激活课堂,导入新课。

Step 1:Free talk

(1) Talk about every day activities.

讨论家人每天的活动,每个学生至少说出一个。教师将这些活动的短语写在黑板上。

例如:visit my friends,babysit his sister,rent the vcds,go to the dentist,have a piano lesson,study for the English test,etc.

(2) Make sentences.

用黑板上的词造句,每个学生至少做一个。

For example:I can't visit my friends,because I have to study for the test.

2.设计任务,层层推进,形成能力。

Step 2:Task

Pre-task

(1) Listening 2a & 2b

(2) Pairwork

Student A invites his/her partner to do something.Student B declines he/her invitation and give reasons.

Task circle:Every student invites at least five classmates to do something.

每个学生至少成功邀请 5 个同学做事情,如邀请不成功,需写被拒绝的理由,最后完成下表。

完成任务所需要的语言结构:

(1) Tell your neighbor who accepts your invitation and who refuses your invitation.Why?

(2) Write a short passage.

For example:

Mary can't come over to my home,because she has to help her parents.But Lucy can come here.She is free.

3.布置实用型作业,激发学生继续学习的兴趣。

Step 3:Homework

Design an invitation card.Invite your friends to have a barbecue on weekend.Tell them the time and place.

【教学反思】

本课的教学比较成功,学生在完成任务的过程中能够将所需要的语言进行熟练的运用。达到了教师预期的教学目标。语言学习具有很强的实践性,学生用外语交际的能力只有通过大量的语言实践活动才能得到培养和提高。新的英语课程标准倡导任务型教学模式,让学生积极地进行体验参与。英语课堂教学应该遵从这一原则,注重语言的实践性特征及学生的体验性和实践性,使学生真正成为教学过程的主体。

Teaching contents :Section A Grammar focus , 3a , 3b , 4 .

Teaching goals :

1.     vocabulary : whom , start , join , practice , math test , mall , calendar .

2.     Patterns : Can you go to the mall this week ?

           Can she/he/they go to movies ?

3.     能力目标:学会写请贴,会制做日程表.

4.     情感目标:学会人际交往的基本常识.

Teaching procedures :

Step 1  Leading in

Ask :How many people did you invite yesterday ?What did they say ?

Ask one student to show his answer .

Step 2  Pre-task

SB Page 26 , Grammar focus .Review the grammar box .Ask Ss to say the questions and answers .

 

Talk about the two ways people give reasons for saying no to an invitation .

Call attention to “has to” and “have to” ,under the words write “I’m    ing , and she’s    ing .”

Step 3  While-task

SB Page 27 , 3a .

Call attention to the invitation .Ask questions about it .eg.What kind of invitation is it ?

Call attention to the dialogue .Ask a pair of students to read it to the class ,saying blank each time they come to a blank line .

Ask students to fill in the blanks according to the invitation .

Check the answers .

SB Page 27 , 3b .

Ask two students to act the conversation you just completed .

Call attention to the blank invitation card .Complete this card .

 

Ask some pairs to present their conversations to the class .

Step 4  Post-task

SB Page 27 ,Part 4 .

Read the instructions for this activity to the class .

Read the dialogue with a student .

Point out Eliza’s calendar on page 27 and Lu Qing’s calendar on Page 87.

Ask students to make conversations.

Discuss the answer with the class .

Step 5  Homework

1.     Make your own calendar .

2.     Make an invitation .
